I stayed in Southampton (where the Mayflower embarked from) with a host family. I got the quintessential (sp?) quaint home life. I also got to visit Cambridge, which sounds pretty similar to Oxford. What a crazy coincidence! I just went to England two weeks ago during the new year celebration and visited all the places you went to see! And we were all thinking the same thing you were about some of the cathedrals feeling more like museums than places of worship. There were just so many things to see, and England has such a rich history. I am glad you had an amazing time too, and hopefully you can go back soon. The Westminster Abbey was beautiful when we went. And by me I mean me and 23 other people from my school. I hope you get to see it too, and especially Stonehenge. That is my favorite part of the trip. It helps to get a tour guide and take a full tour all over England so you can cover more area in less time. But sometimes having a schedule can make it more hectic and not feel like a vacation, so there are benefits and drawbacks to both. Wow! What a crazy coincidence!
